Traveling

Work has been rather intense lately. I guess that's a good thing in a sense. However, it has made me much more tired than I am used to being mentally. Hopefully, my body will respond in a training-like manner and I will increase my mental endurance. I'll need that this week. Sunday I'll be leaving for a week of long days and meetings for a new project in New Jersey.

I am kind of excited about the prospects of the project. We will be working in a different environment and with different professional counterparts. The exchange of ideas and opportunity for learning is exciting. If things work out well and we forge good relationships, this week will be a success. If we don't, it will just be exhausting.

Home Alone

Not quite totally alone though, I do have the moose, I mean, dog with me! BG has been in Albuquerque all week with the boys. I haven't had to take care of things for a week at the house alone in more than 10 years. That's a long time. I did pretty well though. I'm still alive, the house didn't burn down, the dog, fish, plants and pet slugs didn't starve, dry out or die. I told you I did pretty good.

As for the fishing I planned to do...not a chance. Major projects due at the office have kept me quite busy. Even now, the plans are calling to me from the other desk. I better get back to it. I need to get this project redlined before Monday. BG and the boys are supposed to fly back today, weather permitting. When they get back, work will have to wait until all of the stories have been told and all of the pictures reviewed. And that, folks, will take awhile.
